Sand-Between-the-Toes ~ Composition on Poems by A. A. Milne
Experience the wonder of childhood with poems from Winnie the Pooh author A. A. Milne. Beloved poems from Now We Are Six and When We Were Very Young are set to music by composer Sheldon Sands and his ensemble of vocalists and musicians. Each song is a gem—inspiring both the young and the young-at-heart. Join Sheldon, Marta Burton and Stray Dog for an evening of sheer delight.
Famous as the creator of "Winnie the Pooh" and "The House at Pooh Corner", including the characters Christopher Robin, Piglet & Tigger, Milne was also the author of several best selling books of verse including "When We Were Very Young" and "Now We Are Six". It is from these 2 books that Sheldon, over the course of over 20 years, has set to music such classics as "King John's Christmas," "Spring Morning," "At the Zoo," "Wind on the Hill" and this collection's title track, "Sand Between-the-Toes." Interestingly, Milne didn't write the Pooh stories and poems for children but instead intended them for the child within us. These songs come to you in such a spirit!
SHELDON SANDS' CD's include the acclaimed Across Many Oceans and Dead Sea Strolls. A pianist, composer, teacher and concert producer, it is with great joy that he unveils a very different and playful side of his musicality with this collection of songs he has co-written along with A.A.Milne.
